loose-waves

Big plans for New Year’s Eve? I’ve teamed with hairstylist and beauty blogger, Kim Reid from KNR Styling, on how to ring in the New Year in style with one of these stunning looks. Happy Styling!

Loose Waves

1. Use a thickening spray on wet hair
2. Blow-dry to add fullness and texture
3. Use a 1 inch curling wand to give soft waves and finish with a strong hold hairspray

Hot Tip: This technique creates a more relaxed curl and perfect for girls with long hair

Twisted Half Updo

1. Spray dry shampoo on your roots and give your hair a little tease
2. Use a 1 inch curling wand to give soft waves
3. Take two pieces of hair from the front, twist them lightly in the same direction and then twist them around each other in the opposite direction
4. Secure the one side temporarily with a clip or a bobby pin and do the same on the other side
5. Connect both strands in the back and secure them in place with bobby pins

Hot Tip: Pull out little hairs around the face to give the look a soft casual look.

Ribbon Hair Soft Waves

1. With a 1 inch round metal brush, grab medium size hair section 1” in length and ½” in width
2. Next, slowly slide the blow-dryer down to the end of the hair shaft (almost as if you are twirling your hair) then release the hair – once the hair is removed, it bounces back and is curled

Hot Tip: Depending on the types of curls that you are trying to achieve – if you you want softer take larger sections but if you want tighter curls, start with smaller sections

Organic Braid Bun

1. Spray dry shampoo at the roots
2. Use a 1 inch curling wand to give soft waves
3. Grab tiny sections of hair then split each tiny section in three sections
4. Start braiding but let the ends tangle together
5. Throw the ends into the natural loop into the knot
6. Once ends are looped through, pull the ends tight together
7. Overlap each section into a circle bun

Hot Tip: Tease your hair first to achieve massive volume and height
