Cocktails Courier and bridesmaids and bachelorettes, oh my!
This weekend, I was tasked with hosting a bachelorette party in the city for one of my closest college girlfriends. It was quite delightful being at the epicenter of her worlds colliding – I had the pleasure of meeting several magnificent ladies from different eras of my friend’s life, childhood to post-college. And what better way to foster new girl-friendships than over some icebreakers in liquid form?
Special delivery!
Enter Cocktail Courier, AKA classy in a box. It’s a new, on-demand cocktail delivery service that sends specially-curated cocktail kits to your front door (or in our case, hotel lobby—then sent right up). The drinks are made by local professional bartenders with fresh ingredients precisely measured and labeled, so that all a girl’s to do when receiving her special delivery is: open, mix, pour, enjoy.
Within minutes of meeting one another inside a cozy hotel suite, the six of us were soon playing bartender and swapping anecdotes over tequila, grapefruit juice, vodka, ginger and limes. (Not all together in one cup, but collectively.)
I’ll let the pictures do the talking.
I mean. Just look at how CUTE these look. The packaging screams, I AM DELICIOUS AND FUN AND TRENDY AND DRINK ME AND TAKE PICTURES OF HOW GOOD I LOOK.
This was the very first mule I’ve ever concocted, and boy was it surprisingly easy. I’d say the only downside to the Cocktail Courier kits were that they came sans actual bartender tools (measuring spoons, shaker, glasses…yenno, stuff you actually need to make the magic happen) so the kits are optimal for home delivery. Thus, I found myself freehanding some pours but luckily Courier’s measurements made the process pretty foolproof! End result? A refreshing, light, slightly citrus mule with just enough buzz to kick off the night.
Also got some bartending compliments from my fellow patrons, which made me feel a tad fancy!
This drink was also delicious.
Bachelorette party kickoff complete.
Cocktail Courier’s services are currently only in Chicago and Manhattan, but I’m excited to see where else they’ll expand. If you find yourself in one of the two in the meantime, hit up their website (www.cocktailcourier.com) and check it out. Very cool, cost-effective and—most importantly—EASY icebreaker for a classic girls night out!
Disclosure: I received a complimentary box to facilitate this post. Review and all opinions are my own.
