I’ve only been writing for a few months, but already know why I love it so much – the creative outlet and flexible hours are fantastic – but the best perk is being invited to unique events like the Driven to Dine event at Acadia.

Lincoln Motor Company treated me and six girlfriends to a lovely evening of wine, dining and driving – not in that particular of course – afterall, we are responsible ladies! The night started with a personal tour of their new SUVs. I was impressed by all of the new gadgets and especially the new gear shift and the automatic parallel parking feature. As I drove around the city, our Lincoln Ambassador informed us about the SUV and the evolution of Lincoln Motors. I was thoroughly impressed with Lincoln’s new line of cars and will keep them in mind for my next vehicle purchase.

After the test drive, we were seated at Acadia Restaurant, a lovely gem on Wabash Avenue in the South Loop. We were treated to a complementary 3-course meal created by the talented Executive Chef Ryan McCaskey. The first course consisted of (1) chilled yellow tomato soup with lobster, argan oil, and brioche croutons; (2) risotto with vialone nanno, ramp pesto, fiddlehead ferns, and maitake mushrooms; and (3) the chicken liver pate with strawberry marmalade, sourdough, parsley and almond salad.

The second course included flank steak with fried potato, amp-egg yolk puree, mushroom conserva, patty pan squash and shaved radish; and seared salmon with wilted frisee, horseradish potato puree, and pickled mustard seed. All the dishes were remarkable and mouth watering –  two worthy reasons this is one of my favorite hot spots.

For dessert, we indulged in the strawberry shortcake with caramelized white chocolate Bavarian, the caramel ice cream oreo, and the chocolate pudding with crème fresh and graham crackers.

From beginning to end, everything was flawless. The quality of the ingredients, the attention to every detail, and the imagination used to make the dishes was impeccable.

This was a very enjoyable evening getting to learn a little more about Lincoln Motor Company while enjoying the company of my amazing girlfriends!
