Need a new, flavorful protein drink alternative after your gym session? Try a Protein2O!
As promised, I am following up my last post with more nuggets of wisdom from the Be Healthful retreat that I attended with the Chicago Food Girl. The venue was packed with the latest and greatest trends to hit the supermarkets (and even more companies willing to deliver right to your door).
I am very open to trying new and different types of cuisine, especially if you tell me its health advantages first ;). In my past career life, I worked in marketing for a protein ingredient company. It’s there where I first learned to appreciate quality food and understand the importance of reading labels. So not surprisingly, one of the bottled drinks that caught my attention was Protein2o, a new brand of enhanced water from a company not far away – in Melrose, Illinois.
Let’s focus on what makes Protein2o stand out from the rest:
- It tastes good. Trust me, I can stomach just about anything that is may be healthy from water, lemon juice and cayenne pepper to beet and kale juice. But with Protein2o, I don’t have to mentally prepare myself before taking a sip. It has a unique, bold flavor that you don’t expect from enhanced water. It is surprisingly filling and you don’t have to worry about making a funny face when you drink it at the gym. If I had to pick my favorite among the three flavor options (Berry Splash, Grape Splash and Lemon Splash), I would opt for Grape Splash.
- At 70 calories per bottle, you drink the perfect balance of protein (15 g or 30% RDA), electrolytes and flavor to boost your energy during the next workout or long day at the office.
- You don’t have to be an expert on the enhanced water industry to know that this new low-calorie option is a top choice among consumers. How? It’s in the news; Protein2o was selected as one of the Top 10 Beverages Catching Consumers’ Attention in 2014.
- Protein2o is lactose free and gluten free. The protein DOES originate from whey protein isolates, BUT it is purified to remove the lactose and fat leaving only the (good) protein behind.
If you are looking for a quick, flavorful protein alternative, I recommend Protein2o. To learn more about where you can find Protein2o and read frequently asked questions click here. Interested in learning about how other post-workout drinks stack up against each other? Click here.
