Recipe: Shishito Peppers with Peapod + GIVEAWAY
There seems to be a notion that food bloggers enjoy extrava gant home cooked meals 7 days a week and have all the time in the world to go grocery shopping. But in reality, there are only so many hours in a day.
Hence my happiness when my friend introduced me to Peapod few weeks ago. Founded in 1989, they are the country’s oldest online grocery delivery service. Peapod features more than 10,000 products in a range of categories: produce; meat and seafood; deli items; prepared foods; natural and organic foods; Kosher foods; office and school supplies; seasonal items; and video products; pet items; health and beauty aids; wine, beer and spirits and private labels from Stop & Shop and Giant.
The best part about grocery shopping now is that I don’t have to leave my house to do it. I can do all of my grocery shopping online and have it delivered right to my door. This delivery service came in handy a few weeks ago when I was craving Shishito Peppers. Simple to prepare, these mild Asian peppers are a constant rotation at our house.
Enjoy!
Ingredients
- 10 ounces shishito peppers
- 2 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions
- Toss the peppers, olive oil and sesame oil all together until coated.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
- Transfer the peppers to the skillet and cook for 5 minutes (when they start to char).
- Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle with sesame seeds and salt.

Thanks for the simple recipe, I imagine this is delicious with stir fry and other dishes. I discovered sesame oil a couple years ago and love using it.
Peapod is perfect for Chicago, grocery stores can be very inconvenient sometimes…

I agree, I recently sold my car and it’s been a hassle to carry all of my groceries. This came in handy!

This is my absolute favorite snack! I used to be addicted to Cheetos Flamin Hots, but swap to this for a healthier alternative and haven’t gone back. Love this stuff!

Oh man, I still love Cheetos Jalapeño very now and then, haha. These peppers are definitely addicting though!
